๐ŸฃMs O'Neill's Oak Tree Class created beautiful Easter baskets using papier-mache which they will use for their Easter egg hunt next week.
๐Ÿ›Ms. Clarke's Holly Tree Class have some new students-caterpillars! The pupils have spent the week observing their changes, going on minibeast hunts, and classifying minibeasts according to their features.
๐ŸฆœMs Walsh's 5th Class partook in a group art project based on the rainforest. They also created comic strip reports based on the 1916 Easter Rising.
๐ŸŒทMiss O'Reardon's Senior Infants enjoyed Buddy Reading with 6th class. They read books as Gaeilge this week.
They also made spring tulips in art.
๐Ÿ‘ฉ‍๐ŸŒพMs. Murray's/Ms.Smyth's Senior Infants enjoyed Gaeilge book buddy reading with 6th class. They worked on their garden project and sowed seeds in the heptagon house. In Aistear they enjoyed selling flowers in their flower shop.

โšฝ๏ธMr. Quigley brought our Senior boys to a local soccer tournament. They played very well and enjoyed their day.

โšฝ๏ธSports at St.Anne's is flourishing. Thank you to Mr.Quigley and Ms.Smyth for bringing the girls to a soccer blitz on Wednesday.Despite the terrible weather the girls had a great day. They never complained, gave it their best and we are all so proud of them. They had two wins on the day and the hot chocolate back at school was well earned! Thank you to Mr.Quigley for training our pupils after school and to Bailieborough Celtic Club for donating bibs, cones and footballs to our school also.
๐Ÿ‘ŸMr.O'Connor's 6th Class made a splendid array of shoebox stories.
๐Ÿ“šMs. Walsh's 5th Class have been studying World War 2 and were reading buddies to the infants this week.

โš–๏ธMiss Farrelly's 1st and 2nd Class learned all about weight in Maths.

๐ŸšขMr. O'Connor's 6th class worked on fabulous Titanic projects.
๐Ÿ“ฎMs Clarke's Holly Tree Class learned about the Post Office and the people who work there. They wrote their own letters and envelopes and went to the post office to buy stamps.
โ˜”๏ธMiss O'Reardon's Senior Infants worked on the weather station in Aistear. They also created Banksy inspired umbrellas.
โ˜•๏ธMs.O'Neill's Oak Tree Class took a trip to the coffee parlour for some lovely treats.
๐Ÿ‘ฉ‍โš•๏ธMiss O'Reilly's Junior Infants worked on the doctor's surgery in Aistear learning about the work of doctors and nurses and built their own hospitals in their construction corner.
๐Ÿ›Miss Nulty's 5th class did a wonderful job making constructions of the GPO.
๐ŸŽญMr. O'Dowd's 4th class worked on acting out emotions and feelings using scenario cards in SPHE.

They researched the history of the famous ship and were hugely innovative in their presentations, displaying many formidable skills such as team work, skill sharing, oral language proficiency, voice projection, listening skills and ICT/Art/written work excellence. A huge well done to each of the project groups.
๐Ÿ‘ฉ‍โš•๏ธMs. Lawson Clarke's Holly Tree Class learned about people who help us. They role played the doctor's role and made their own xray pictures.

๐ŸŒฑMs O'Donnell's 3rd Class used clay to write their names in Ogham like the Celts
๐Ÿ‘ฉ‍๐ŸŽจMiss O'Reardon's Senior Infants looked at houses in the past in history this week and in pairs. In art they created pop art houses and homes inspired by the artist James rizzi. Today they did nice activities for the toy show tonight!

This was part of our Biodiversity theme for Green Schools organised by Ms Stafford, our Green Schools leader. Thank you to Eilish Mc Gowan and Goshte for this very interesting talk and exploration of our local area.

โค๏ธMs O Reardon's Senior Infants were celebrating World Kindness Day which happens on 13th November by putting the I into KIND.
๐ŸงMs Lawson Clarke's Holly Tree Class began looking at a new topic this week- The Arctic. They explored the globe to see where it was, and where it was in relation to Ireland. They tried to make icebergs out of gloop, and created fluffy polar bears using forks.

๐Ÿง™‍โ™€๏ธMiss O'Reardon's Senior Infants did skeleton cotton bud art, watched Room on the Broom after reading the book, made a recipe for good friendship and made pumpkin mosaic art.
โ˜ ๏ธMr O'Dowd's room were taught by a skeleton and had lots of Halloween fun and games.

Take a look at some of the highlights!
๐ŸMs Fox's Junior Infants learned how to code using Bee Bots.
๐Ÿค”Miss Farrelly's 1st/2nd Class went on an outdoor scavenger hunt, did a Daily Noggin task and played fun maths games.
๐Ÿ“‹Ms Walsh's and Ms de Búrca's 5th Classes joined up to use their "Maths Eyes" on an outdoor maths hunt. They searched for lines, angles, 2D and 3D shapes, and Odd and Even numbers in the environment.
๐Ÿ›’Ms de Búrca's 5th Class did a shop in Lidl from their classroom! They answered maths puzzles based on the Lidl catalogue in groups-they found some great value deals!
๐Ÿ‚Ms O'Neill's Oak Tree Class looked at 3D shapes and Patterns and went on a scavenger hunt to find these in nature.
๐ŸŽฒMs. Somerville and Ms O'Donnell's 3rd class played maths games with cards and dice and played interactive maths games on the Chrome Books.
๐Ÿ“Miss McIntyre's 6th Class learned about Averages in maths. They measured each other in groups and worked out the average heights of each group.

โ›ช๏ธMs Walsh's 5th Class went on a local history tour around Bailieborough with Mr.Donnellan. They visited the old workhouse and Church of Ireland ruins. Thank you Mr.Donnellan!
๐ŸŽƒMs de Búrca's 5th got ready for Halloween week by carving some pumpkins.
๐Ÿฆ”Miss Conlan's 2nd class created beautiful hedgehog collages in art and studied card games from the past in History-they learned how to play "Go Fish". It is really fun!
๐Ÿง™‍โ™€๏ธMr.O'Dowd's 4th class wrote poems in the style of Wes Magee's poem "The Witches Brew". They have a new star of the Week and Gaeilgeoir na Seachtaine. Well done girls!
๐ŸŽƒMs Fox's Junior Infants arrived to school on Monday to see their classroom transformed into a pumpkin patch shop and spooky potions lab. They sequenced the life cycle of the pumpkin and practised some Halloween yoga moves.
๐Ÿ‘ฉ‍๐Ÿ”ฌMs Lawson Clarke's Holly Tree Class made a spooky witch's potion. They wrote down all of the ingredients they used. They uncovered magnetic items in their sensory trays and painted pumpkins with paintbrushes and droppers.
๐Ÿ‘ท‍โ™€๏ธMs O'Reardon's Senior Infants worked on lots of Halloween activities in Aistear. Room on the Broom character sequencing, Small World in the tuff tray, a potion station in Role Play, building haunted houses in Construction, and creating their own broom in Art.
๐ŸŒณMs O'Sullivan's 3rd class finished their fabulous charcoal forests today.
๐ŸŽMiss Mc Cusker's Hawthorn Tree Class are having a lovely time working on Halloween activities including making lovely candy apples.
๐ŸงชMiss McIntyre's 6th studied solids, liquids and gases in Science and did experiments to record the differences between the 3 states.

๐Ÿ‚Ms Mc Mahon's Jnr Infs went on an Autumn nature walk and back in class they used Autumn as their theme in Aistear.
๐Ÿ‘ฉ‍๐ŸŽจMiss O'Reardon worked on Autumn Art silhouettes with Ms O'Neill's Oak Tree Class.
๐ŸงMiss Martin's Apple Tree Class visited the coffee shop as part of their social skills lessons and relaxed afterwards with some mindfulness colouring.

๐Ÿš—Ms O'Sullivan brought her 3rd class to the Virginia Road to do a traffic survey and learn about road safety. They observed traffic closely for 15 minutes and noted the various types of vehicles which passed. They kept an eye on the speed by observing the big radar speedometer. Great work boys and girls.
Ms de Búrca's 5th class have been studying Ancient China in History. They studied Chinese Dynasties in 4 groups; Han, Xia, Qin and Ming.
They studied Chinese art and pottery also and produced some lovely pieces of work.

They are investigating how the amount of water you give a seed makes a difference to how well it grows.
