Student Council

Student Council

We set up our student council in February 2020 with the help of Master Corcoran, Ms Fannin, Ms O' Neill and all the class teachers from 4th to 6th class. The aim of the student council is to help improve school life in St Anne's for everybody.

Inspired by the General Election itself, we held elections in all classrooms from 4th to 6th Class. Those children who wished to be considered for a place on the student council prepared an election speech, which they presented to the children in their own classrooms. Based on these speeches the children then voted for the candidates they felt would be the most suited to a role on the student council.

Once this democratic process was complete we had elected a council of five boys and five girls, a boy and a girl from each class to represent their classmates at student council meetings in the future.

Suggestion boxes will be placed in each classroom throughout the school and the children will bring the ideas from there to the first student council meeting, which will be held in the week beginning 2nd March 2020.

We are very excited to have a newly formed student council, the first in St Anne's history and we will update our website regularly with news on what we have been up to. The future is bright, watch this space.
