September Newsletter
Dear Parent /Guardian,
We have just completed 6 weeks of school and everyone is now used to the new
procedures that we have put in place to help keep our school open and safe.
Our new Junior Infants and other new pupils have settled well into our school routine.
We are working very hard to make sure that school life is as ‘normal’ as possible and
a pleasant experience for all our pupils in these strange times.
School Uniform
The children all look great in their school uniform. We would like to commend you
for your support of the uniform and hope this will continue throughout the school
year.
Healthy Eating
We encourage healthy eating in our school. Please keep this in mind when preparing
snacks/lunches for your child each day.
COVID-19
As Ireland enters Level 3 of the Government’s Plan for Living with Covid 19, we
thank you for your support of the anti-Covid 19 measures we have taken in St. Anne’s
N.S. and ask for your continued co-operation in the important weeks ahead.
Just a reminder that:
The school gate is opened each morning at 08:50. for pupils who begin their school
day at 09:00.
Pupils who begin at 09:10 arrive from 09:00.
Where possible, children should walk or cycle to school.
Parents/Guardians should use the Church carpark as a ‘Park and Stride’ parking area.
The school carpark should only be used by cars with special passes and staff cars (for
St Anne’s NS and the Community Centre) in the mornings and afternoons.
Adults should not enter the school grounds without prior arrangements. The school
contact number is (042)9665242
Staff changes
Ms. Conlan returns to teach with us from her career break while we are sorry to lose
Ms McIntyre, Ms Dolan and Ferghal Murphy who have taken up longer term posts in
other schools. We welcome Mr. O’ Connor, who replaces Ms. de Búrca as she is
currently on maternity leave and our new SNA, Wagner De Paula E Silva to St.
Anne’s N.S.
St. Anne’s NS Green Schools
We received our fourth Green Flag in the post last week. Well done to the committee
and the wider school community for this wonderful achievement. The garden clean up
continues after the summer, and we have planted wild flowers and spring bulbs in
recent weeks.
The Sacraments
Congratulations to our Third Class who showed a lot of patience before they received
the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist recently. We wish to thank the
children’s parents and guardians, their class teachers and SNAs in 2nd and 3rd class and
especially Fr Ultan and Andrea Connolly for preparing the children so well for these
important sacraments. The children were excellent on the day of First Holy
Communion which was held at short notice on Tuesday, 6th October, 2020.
We were also delighted to be able to attend the occasion of Confirmation 2020 when
Bishop Router confirmed last year’s sixth class.
We are continuing to work hard every day to make our school a safe, happy place for
both children and staff. We again thank you, the parents/guardians, for your part in
working with us and supporting us in our efforts.
Stay safe and well
Paul Corcoran
