Green Flag & Active School Flag

Celebrating our

5th Green Flag for BIODIVERSITY + our
2nd Active Schools Flag.
🦋A momentous occasion today as we raised both of the flags we worked very hard to achieve in St.Anne's N.S this year.
🌱To raise the Green Flag we invited the Bailieborough Green Group represented by Barry Kavanagh, Eilish Mc Gabhann and Imelda Carolan, and also former St. Anne's teacher and Green Flag coordinator, Collette Gavin.
The Green Group have been wonderful in helping to teach our pupils about BIODIVERSITY including educational trips to the wetlands near us. Barry himself was the designer of our school garden in 2014 and this garden has become an oasis on our school grounds where plants are sown and harvested and pupils are nurtured and educated about wildlife and growth. 🐞
🛶To raise the Active Schools Flag, we invited Tony and Mags Gregory. As we all know, Tony is a local community champion in Bailieborough. He has facilitated countless events and activities in order to help to keep our pupils active and healthy in both body and mind in St. Anne’s.⛹️
💚These local heroes are an inspiration to our pupils and a wonderful support to us in our teaching and learning. Working closely with the community of Bailieborough enhances the richness of our pupils' experiences in their school life at St.Anne's N.S.
❤️Thank you to:
🏵Ms Stafford Coordinator, Priya and the Green Schools Committee.
🦋Ms. O' Kane Coordinator, Chloe and the Active Schools Committee
🍅Lisa and Rebecca from Fresh Today for the snack packs for every pupil.
🐦‍⬛Members of the Parents Association and Board of Management who attended.
🐟Alex from The Anglo-Celt for attending our event.
💚Finally, thank you to each and every staff member in St.Anne's N.S for the astounding amount of work you put in with our pupils in achieving these flags.
❤️With or without flags, the wellbeing of our pupils and love for our environment is key to everything we do, as is evident in the slogans our pupils penned.
