World Book Day

4th March 2021

World Book Day is Ireland’s biggest annual event promoting the enjoyment of books and reading. The main aim is to encourage children to explore the pleasure of books and reading.

To celebrate World Book Day we invited the children to dress up at home and in school as their favourite book character or bring their favourite book to school to show their class. Some of the children got to take part in a library book scavenger hunt. See below all the fun we had today.

World Book Day also offers €1.50 book tokens to all the children in the school which can be used in any participating shop. If you have not received your token please contact the school office. Tokens are valid until Sunday 28th March or while stocks last.

Some of our 5th class took part in world book day from home by creating videos of raps and poems they have done.
