October Newsletter
Dear Parents/Guardians,
I hope you and your families are all well. I’d like to welcome all of our
pupils, teachers and special needs assistants back after their Hallowe’en
break.
We enter the month of November while Ireland remains at Level 5 of the
Government’s response plan to the COVID pandemic. We are conscious
of the recent high number of recorded cases of COVID 19 in this electoral
area. We call upon everyone to play their part in ensuring that St. Anne’s
N.S. remains open by prioritising personal and public safety especially in
the coming weeks.
We appreciate the cooperation we have received from the school
community in relation to our plans for the safe reopening of our school
and look forward to your continued cooperation over the more
challenging winter months ahead. We continue to emphasise the major
defences to COVID 19, distancing, hand washing, covering coughs and
sneezes and fresh air.
We strongly urge you to keep your child at home if he/ she shows any
signs of sickness and to be available to collect your child quickly should
they become unwell in school.
We need to prevent congestion in the school carpark before and after
school. Children should walk or cycle to school where possible.
If you must drive, please ‘Park and Stride’ from the church carpark when
coming to and going home from school.
Older children should walk or cycle home from school. If they have to be
collected by car then please arrange a pickup point away from the school
area such as the church carpark. If you are collecting a young child from
the school gate then please observe social distancing, wear a mask,
respect those around you and don’t delay when you have collected your
child.
The school carpark is for the use of school staff and those working in the
community centre. Tanderagee is not suitable for parking as it is a cul-de-
sac and should not be used.
If you need to contact us, please ring us on (042)9665242 rather than
calling into the school. Only school personnel and pupils should enter the
school grounds.
Even though these precautions are necessary, we look forward to the
next number of weeks. We are doing all we can to ensure that school is a
safe and enjoyable experience for the children.
Sincerely,
Paul Corcoran.
Principal.
